So I won't be blogger for awhile because I am leaving for College tomorrow and won't have a GDB pup to raise. I do have Roscoe still but I am not taking him to college with me. I know sad day but my mom is going to finish raising him until he goes to the High School Raising Program in Salt Lake City. Anyways here are some of the pictures I have taken of Roscoe this summer.

Well last Thursday I picked up my 8th puppy for GDB. His name is Roscoe. His parents are Nevin and Genova and he was born on Feb 21, 2011. Here are some pictures from the day I picked him up.Meeting my new puppy for the first time.New Puppies for my Club left to right Mozart, Roscoe, Tartan, and Athens My friend and I that started raising at the same time.

Well its been a little bit to long since I last posted. I have been super busy with school though. Well as of about February 9th Sugar has been spayed. Guide Dogs decided that she had to many fear issues to be a breeder. This means she is no longer on breeder watch. I mean its a little sad but she is doing so much better with some of her fear issues. Probably because my Mom and I have been trying to work more with her. She may not get to be a breeder but I think she will make a good guide dog if she can get over her fears. Well that's all I have for now. I will try to do more of a post sometime soon.

Well sense I haven't blogged in the last about 2 months I think it is time to do one know. Well since I more or less won't do this next week I am going to do it know. First off I can't believe this year is almost over. I mean for me so much has happened this year but that will come in a different post.

Well this past week for puppy meeting we took the dogs to see Santa Claus. It was definitely something worth doing.

Mara and Journey Are In........

Well I got the exciting news that Mara and Journey will both be graduating on the 25th of September. I am supper pleased to here this but am sad because I have something else going on that day.

New Puppy.......Just Kidding

Well this week I have been puppy sitting Cobb. He is being raised by my old leader but she need me and my mom to take him tell next Friday. So far I have had so much fun with him. It kind of makes me want a baby puppy in the house again. Anyway he is a supper good boy and very cute so here are some pictures of Cobb. Enjoy!!!!

Also today is Sugars 10 month B-Day. My does time fly. It feels like yesterday she was a little fluff ball and no she all gown up. Anyways I have really enjoyed working with even with the struggles I have with her but don't we all. Here are a few things I enjoy about her as a 10 month old puppy.

school.

Phase 8!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my goodness!!! I can not believe Mara and Journey are in Phase 8 this week. I mean I knew Journey would make it this far but I am super surprised that Mara has as well. For those of you that knew Mara well I was raising her you knew she was a peace of work. Anyways I am super excited that she has made it this far. Here is what she has been up to this last week.

Phase #6

Guidework routes in difficult and challenging work environments (heavy pedestrian and vehicle traffic areas, wide crossings, hectic atmospheres, etc.)
Introduction to sidewalkless areas and rounded curbs
Continued work in malls, stores and buildings, with increasing exposure to varying sights, sounds and smells
Lessons in advanced guidework skills, such as moving turns
Introduction to "intelligent disobedience" (dogs learn to refuse to obey a command if it is unsafe to execute)
Advanced obedience training

Phase #7

Guidework in extremely challenging downtown urban areas (San Francisco and Portland)
Training on buses, light rail/subway systems and platform edges
Introduction to low overhead clearances
Advanced off-leash obedience
Formal traffic training
Advanced guidework and obedience training continues
Intensive indoor mall training with crowds and slick floors
Advanced sidewalkless training with obstacles.

Phase #8

Final obedience testing, including on-leash obedience with the mobility instructor wearing a blindfold
Off-leash obedience with distractions
Workouts with unfamiliar or novice handlers
Final traffic testing with instructor under blindfold and "real life" traffic situations
Final guidework testing: city streets. Includes working a 40-50 minute route with the mobility instructor wearing a blindfold in downtown Gresham or San Rafael. The route covers nearly every aspect of guidework (curbs, street crossings, stairs, buildings, crowded sidewalks, traffic, etc.); obedience exercises are done along the way.
Final guidework testing: inside buildings (malls, stores, etc.). Includes working escalators, elevators, stairs, etc. with the mobility instructor wearing a blindfold.
Final physical exams

Well Mara and Journey are in Phase 5 this week. I am so proud of both there progress. Here is what they have been up to this week.

Phase #5

Preliminary guidework testing with the mobility instructor under blindfold
Complete veterinary history review
More challenging guidework training environments (pedestrian traffic, stairs, different flooring surfaces, etc.)

Also this week I got a camera that I could use. Which I fine exciting. So here are of few pictures. Enjoy!!!!!

So far both of them have been enjoyable but I don't think that puppy sitting 2 dogs plus my own is something I want to do again. Well Mara and Journey are both in Phase 4 this week. I am so proud of both there progress. Here is what they are up to in Phase 4.

Phase #4

Progression of guidework training: more difficult sidewalks in busier sections of downtown areas
Training on more complex street crossings and curbs
Obstacle clearance initiated by the dogs; they begin to guide their mobility instructors through the campus obstacle course
Preliminary obedience testing and evaluation of the dogs' reactions to head collars

Well I am supper surprised Mara is already in phase 3. I only say this cause she was wild and crazy when I had her. Which most of you know. I am supper excited to see what she decides but for know here is what she is doing.

Phase #1

Pre-training physical exam
Neutering/spaying (with the exception of potential breeding stock dogs who are under evaluation at this time)
X-rays
Eye checks
Relaxing walks on campus and play sessions
Introduction to the kennel environment and schedule
General daily care and grooming

Phase #2

Preliminary obedience training
Exposure to distractions (toys, food, other dogs, cats, etc.)
First on-campus workouts with a harness
Introduction to the BEST program training techniques (including treadmill sessions)
Sessions to teach guidework-specific commands (such as "Forward," "Halt," "Hopp Up" and "Steady") and the desired responses to the commands
On leash introduction to the campus obstacle course

Phase #3

Guidework training in quiet residential areas
Frequent rides in the training vans
Introduction to more advanced guidework commands and responses ("Right," "Left," and "Over Here,"); continued training on commands learned in Phase #2
Introduction of curbs and street crossings
Progressive obstacle course training on campus
Continued obedience training
Mall exposure walks
Dog social sessions
Neutering/spaying for those dogs dropped from the breeder-watch list

7 Days Left w/ My Girl

Well there are only 7 days left with Mara. I can't believe it and am going to miss her so much. The only sad thing about her leaving is that I have another conflict next week. This means I can't drop her off. I am supper disappointed that I can't drop her off myself, but I guess that's what happens when you are super busy in the summer. Anyways Megan from my puppy club was awesome and took some last time photos of Mara and Me at Bridal Veil Falls yesterday. Sugar also came but not a lot of pictures of her. Well here are a few of those pictures that I liked.

I have really enjoyed Mara. I mean even though she was hard for me at the beginning I am proud at how far she has come in the last few months sense I got her. 11 Days Left

Well I just thought I would let you guys all know that Mara will be leaving for formal training on the 12th of June. I know I shouldn't be counting down yet but I am. Its a little sooner then I would like but my crazy little girl is ready to go back. I don't have any current pictures because I broke my camera last week. So no pictures until I get a new camera which probably will be a while until I do. Anyways Mara has turned into an awesome puppy and I am so glad to have gotten to raise her. If she decides that being a guide dog isn't for her then that is perfectly fine.

I also forgot to mention that Journey leaves that day as well. I know I didn't finish him but I was still a part of raising him. I wish him luck in formal training. So pretty much with the end of school I have been super busy and haven't even thought about posting anything. That will all change after finals which end on Wednesday and then school will pretty much be done. Happy B-Day Berta, and Maggie

Well today is my first and second dogs B-Day. No they were not born the same year, but they are a year apart.

Berta turned 4 years old today (May 2, 2006), and is still living the wonderful life as a guide dog. At least I hope so anyways. I don't really here much from her partner but I am pretty sure she is doing an awesome job as a guide dog.

Maggie is 3 years old today (May 2, 2007), and is still living the wonderful life as a guide and a diabetic dog because her partner is diabetic also. She sounds like she is living an awesome life as a multi-service dog.

Anyways I miss them both dearly but I now they are both out being wonderful helps to there blind people. Well thats all I have for now.

For fun

So for fun I thought I would look up quotes that expressed what my first 5 GDB pups taught me. So I looked up the quotes and found a picture of that do and wrote it on the picture. I mean I have words for them but I think the quotes I found put into words what I have to say a lot better.

Berta taught how lucky I am to be able to raise these wonderful dogs and then have to say goodbye to them only to watch them exceed at what they love to do.

Maggie taught me that even though she isn't hear when I started and when she left me I still left a little bit of my heart in her even if she is far away and I don't get to see her.

Myra taught me that even though she had accidents in my Jr High School for a few months. I was okay with it even if it made me look like a fool.
Lansing taught me that even though he was a starter puppy for the high school program. He was able to move on and have many more experiences then I would have been able to give him.

Journey taught me that even though he was a guide dog puppy in training. I found out that I was able to love someone as much as my 2 pets dogs again before they died about 4 years ago when I also started raising my first guide dog puppy.

I mean as all you puppy raisers know these amazing dogs teach us many things these are just a few of these things all my dogs have taught me. I will probably do Mara and Sugar another time. I just couldn't think of something for Mara and Sugar at the moment. But I will come up with something before both of them head back for formal training. Thats all for know.

Well Myra is graduating from D4D on the 26th of June. I am not sure if I will be able to go but I hope to. Anyways here is the email I received about her graduating and lets hope it works out this time.

Fun Day

Well today it was finally warm enough to go do something, so I took Mara and Sugar on a walk. We ended up walking to the park. I was surprised how well they both did really well. Here are some pictures of the outing.

Well today is the day that I turn an official adult which is kind of weird but oh well its all good. So ya today I turned 18 which means I am old enough to vote, start raising puppies without my parents signing the application, and the many other things that I don't really know about yet. Mara had fun going to school with me. She also liked showing off the new leather leash that I got. So all in all a good day for me.

Well someone known as Sugar got her last set of shots yesterday which means she can start going on outings. Well for her first outing I thought we would doing something fun. Sibling Swap

Well as some of you know Mara and Meade are siblings. So after puppy class this week Mitch and I switched siblings. So I got Meade and he took Mara home with him. Meade will probably be leaving sometime today and then I will get Mara back. Here are some pictures.

So when we got to home from Puppy Class I let Meade go play in the back and when I brought him back in he had slobber all over him. I think it was from the dog that is staying with us. I know it is kind of gross but I thought it was funny at the same time.

I am sure I know what to do with this but I wanted to get others input. What do you guys do when you have a dog that likes to play keep away with you. Any input would be great. Thanks!

Well as some of you may know already Mara and her siblings turned 1 on February 18. So for puppy class that week we had a B-Day party for all the pups that turned 1 this month. Those pups were Meade, Mara, Paris, and Peanut. I thought is was very fun. Here are some pictures of the event.

We played party games like Tick tack toe. Which helps work on the dogs stays. We also played musical chairs where the dogs sit on a piece of paper. Sorry no pictures of this part. After the party games it was time to sing happy birthday to the 1 year olds. Megan made puppy cup cakes for all the puppies and there was also human cup cakes which my sister made for us. Here are some pictures of my puppies eating there pup cakes.

Vister for the Week

Well I'm sorry I haven't posted for awhile. I have been busy with school and the dogs. Well this week I got the pleasure of watching Paris's brother Peanut. He was a pretty good boy. I didn't really take him on any outings, so I don't know how he does in public but at home he was a perfect puppy. Well almost, he did have an accident in his crate the first night because I wasn't sure of his relieving schedule but other then that he was quite in joy able. I think Mara enjoyed having a playmate. Things I Enjoy about Sugar.

Well as promised a post with things I enjoy about Sugar. I mean even though she is being raised by my mom I still like posting about her adventures. I guess that also means what I enjoy about her. Well here is what I enjoy about her anyways.

1. Well the first thing I enjoy about her is that she is very confident about going up and down the stairs at 8 weeks old. I know surprising but she can.

2. The 2nd thing I enjoy about her is that she is willing to play in the snow and doesn't really complain when she gets to cold.

3. The last thing I enjoy about her is that she loves to chew on her toys. I like this because then I know that she isn't going to destroy something that doesn't belong to her.

Things I Enjoy about Mara.

Well sense I haven't posted in a while I thought I would do a post about what I enjoy about my current puppies. Well Mara today Sugar tomorrow.

1. Well the 1st thing I enjoy about Mara is that she is very willing to please even though I didn't see this the first few months I had her.

2. I love her spunky attitude even though I was really hard for me to deal with at first.

Surprise, Surprise

I had no clue about this but my mom and dad went somewhere and then showed up with a little ball of fur. I honestly had no clue about this so as you can tell it was quite the surprise. Well here is a picture of the puppy and then I will tell the name and other stuff.

Are you ready. This little puppy's name is Sugar. All I know about her is that she is a Female Golden Retriever and she with be 8 weeks tomorrow. I also know that she is from a breeder in Arkansas (I am assuming private breeder that donated them to GDB but not sure). So yes she is a puppy for guide dogs. I am going to help raise her with my mom but since we still have Mara I will mostly be working with Mara and my mom with be working with her most of the time. I am still going to be a part of raising her with my mom. My mom with probably just be the one doing most of the starting stuff with her.

Well I guess I should also put how Mara is taking to having another dog in the house. She was actually quite excited to see another puppy in house. It will be a long while be for the 2 of them get to do anything but staring at each other. I just hope it doesn't do her any damage. I am sure it won't cause any damage to Mara. I guess I worry about that cause it seemed like that when I had Myra and Lansing at the same time. Anyways thats all for now.

What Happen in 2009

January: Myra turned 16 months. Not much really happened that month.

February: Myra turned 17 months. I also found out that she was going to return for formal training March 28. Lansing turned 1 years old on the 9th even though I wasn't with him I still like mentioning that he turned 1. So kind of a sad and fun month at the same time.

March: I turned 17 on the 23. Myra left for formal training a couple days after my birthday so not a very fun birthday present for me. I also found out that I was going to receive a puppy on the 17th of April. All in all a pretty good month.

April: Journey arrived on the 18th at I think about 9 weeks old. Sorry but I don't really remember that much how old he was.

May: Journey turned 3 months. Got his 1st set of shots. Dickens came to live with us for about 3 weeks because his raisers decided it wouldn't work out. Berta turned 3 years and Maggie turned 2 years on the 2nd of May.

June: Journey turned 4 months. Got his last set of shoots and became league with going on outings. I left to Atlanta Georgia toward the middle of June for 5 weeks and my mom watched Journey while I was gone.

July: Journey turned 5 months. Returned from Atlanta on the 24th.

August: Journey and Me went to California Fun Days. Found out that Myra was in Class to graduate with a blind person. I then found out that Myra was taken out of Class and then ended up being CC'd due to different distractions. I mean it didn't surprise me that Myra was Career Changed because she had some distractions when I had her that I wasn't sure how to work through with her. Well so kind of a disappointing month for me.

September: Journey left to go to the high school program. Which was pretty hard for me to let go of him. Myra turned 2 years. Found out that Myra was in training at Dogs for Diabetics. Also got Mara my first transfer puppy. She is also the first of 6 guide dog puppies that is black the rest of my puppies have been yellow.

October: Mara turned 8 months. Me and Mara were Thing 1 and Thing 2 for halloween. Mara was Thing 1 and I was Thing 2.

November: Mara turned 9 months. Nothing more exciting then Mara turning 9 months.

December: Mara turned 10 months. Lansing graduated as a guide to Brian Ralston of Modesto California on the 12th. I wasn't able to make it out but I still appreciate the fact that he graduated.

So thats what happened in 2009. I am so happy with what happened in 2009 but am excited to see what is going to happen in 2010. I hope I have a wonderful year.

Reunion

Well yesterday I got to see someone that I have not seen in about 3 months. That special someone would be Journey. Me and the girl that received him have been keeping in touch and wanted to get together yesterday. We ended up meeting at Thanksgiving Point but it was to cold to walk around or we ended up deciding not to walk around. Instead we just stayed in the restaurant they have there and talked. We each told stories about what Journey hand done and talked about guide dogs and lots of other things.

Well it was great seeing her and Journey. I cannot believe how big he has gotten since I left him with who he is with now. But I am also pleased at how he is doing. Here is the one good picture I got of Journey because he was being difficult with not wanting his picture taken.

After that my mom had to go up to Cabela's to ask them about something. So I took the time to walk Mara around the animals.

Double Digits!

Well Mara and Journey are officially 10 months today. Which means that she will turn a year in 2 months. This is kind of scary to think about because after they turn one they will be ready to leave for formal training at about anytime. Journey probably won't leave until June though cause he is at the high school program. Mara will be able to leave at pretty much anytime though after she turns one. I don't know why but for some reason with everyone of my puppies I start thinking about these sort of things when they turn 10 months.

Well first of I wanted to thank everyone who commented on my last post. I have realized just how hard it is and wasn't sure what to do about Mara so thank you.

Well as the post says I went to New Moon tonight with a friend and took Mara along with me. No it was not the midnight showing. This is one of the best outings she has gone on with me. What I mean is that she impressed me that she just settled down and slept through the whole movie. As for how the movie was I thought is was good. I do have to say though that Jacob in the movie is more attractive then Edward. It's not that I'm not an Edward fan. I just like Jacob better in the movie and Edward in the book so I guess you could say that I am divided. Well here are some pictures.

* For those of you that have raised transfer puppies how have you gotten used to them. Why I asked this is because I have had a really hard time getting used to Mara personality. I mean for some reason I keep thinking that she would be better of with someone else. I can't bring myself to do it though. There is a part of me that loves her dearly but since the day that I got her me and her just haven't clicked like me and Journey. I mean for some reason it feels like Journey was my dog. I mean from the moment I got him he just felt like mine. I really didn't mind starting him for the High School program but theres a part of me that wished he wouldn't have gone. I guess I know why I started him for the High School program though. Well thats all for know. Exciting News

Well as some of you may know after Myra got Career Changed she went to D4D (Dogs for Diabetics). Well this is kind of like my phase report for her when I get an email from them. Anyways here is the email. Enjoy!

Hi Hannah-

I am happy to inform you that Myra completed team training on November 13th and is now in foster placement with her diabetic partner. For the next few months, Myra and her partner will work together to meet D4D graduation requirements. We expect her to graduate February 20, 2010. In the meantime, I will be giving you updates about Myra's progress, we are so happy to see her placed and working! Please let me know if you have any questions, I look forward to seeing you at Myra's graduation in a few months.

High School Raising Program.

A couple post ago I ask people suggestions for post and someone ask me to explain more about the High School Raising Program that I have raised 3 pups for. So is a little bit more about it.

Well with being a starter raiser its basically like doing a regular puppy except you feel like you need to work a little harder with the puppies to get the stuff right. Like with my experiences I have felt the need to give the puppies a little bit of a start with all the commands. With what its like not being able to finish them its kind of sad cause you put all the work into starting them and then they half to go to a raiser how hasn't really had the experience of raising a guide dog puppy before but yet its kind of fun to see how they are going to work out with there new raiser. Well today started with getting up getting ready for puppy class and then of course going to it. That lasted from 10:00 am to about 11:30 am. Well I was just looking through my email and I saw this email from D4D about Myra. Anyways here is the email.

Hi Hannah-

I just wanted to give you an update on Myra. She's a smart one! Myra had moved on to our 2nd phase of training, what we call finishing school. She is living with a graduated D4D team, and working along the side of the graduated dog. This is where Myra learns how to alert in real life situations. She jumped into the game the minute she got home. She has done several alerts and will be class ready for our November class. If we can match her personality and energy level to one of the diabetics in the class she will start her new job the first week of November. I can't thank you enough for gifting Myra to our program. I will be in touch with you in mid November to let you knowif she has been matched up. Thank you again for all your hard work!

7 Months

Well Journey turned 7 months on Tuesday. I also found out that he is going to the Salt Lake City High School program on Friday September 25, 2009. I can't believe I have had him for this long. My boy is going to be so hard to hand over to a high school student. Here are some pictures. Enjoy!

So Tuesday was puppy class, and my CFR was going to be there doing evals on the puppies. It wasn't just my club but also the Summit Club, and The Salt Lake Club. But me and my friend that is also raising a puppy that also goes to my High School thought it would be fun to try and confuse Barb so I took her puppy Peanut home and she took Journey home. Trip to California Part 2

The next day was Fun Day which was are main reason for going to California. My parents and I got there at a pretty descent time. We got there in time for the meeting at the stage and such. For those of you who were there that was my parents that yelled really load for Utah. Well here are some pictures I took of the day.

Sunday we went to church and thats about it. We mostly just took it easy that day.

Monday we got up pretty early and then headed out to go home but we didn't take the same way home as we did on the way up. Instead of going past Reno area we decided to drive home through Yosemite National Park. That was really fun. Here are some pictures. The first few pictures I think may be calendar worthy.

Trip to California Part 1

This is kinda long so don't feel obligated to read. Well know thats out of the way I finally am able to do a post about my trip to California and stuff. The only reason why I haven't is because my computer was being kinda stupid and not letting me put pictures on. Not to mention it's been kinda difficult with school having started.

Well sense I live in Utah my parents and I either had the option of either flying out to California or Driving. Well we choose option B which was driving. In plan A we were not going to take the dog because my mom didn't think it would work out but I ended up being able to so we got to come with us. So here are some pictures of the drive up because I know you all want the pictures instead of the words.

After a few more hours of driving we stopped to eat, potty the dog, and get gas. After all that we got back into the car drove a couple more miles then got off the freeway and drove up to the LDS Reno Nevada Temple and walked around the grounds. The last picture isn't a very good one because it was really windy but it works.

After this stop we pretty much just drove the rest of the way and didn't make anymore stops.

As for the second day we got up had breakfast with my moms cousin and her husband. After that we got ready to leave. We started the day with going to the LDS Oakland Temple and then we headed out to San Francisco. Here are some pictures.

Well Myra was officially Carrer Changed. She was CC'd for different types of distractions. Heres what they said about her in the report.

SUMMARY: Myra is normally calm, yet can become highly distracted in the general environment. She can require effective leash corrections around dog distractions, certain smells and people that she is interested in meeting. She had great difficulty focusing on responsible GW. She is smart, quick to learn new concepts and has very good house behavior. She is a sweet dog who we have truly enjoyed working with.

All in all I thought it a pretty good summery. Right now they are looking at Dogs for Diabetics for her. Well thats all I have for now.

No Longer In Class...

Well I am not really sure how to put this into words. The only way I know how to put it is that Myra may not be a guide dog after all. I called my mom after school to ask her for a ride home cause it was to hot to walk home with Journey. Well when she arrived she said that Barb my CFR had called and said that Myra was no longer in class. That kind of a surprise to me. It hasn't really sunk in yet they she still may not be a guide dog. Well thats all I got for now.

Dax from my puppy club got CC'd while I was in Atlanta Georgia. He arrived the same day as my 4th pup Lansing. Not really sure what he was CC'd for. I do know that some of it had to do with the fact that he just wasn't mature enough.

Sparky was CC'd just barley in Phase 10. He was CC'd for fear. I don't know what kind of fear though. His raisers are planing on taking him back. They are not able to pick him up. The good news is though that me and my parents are going to be picking up Sparky for them at the California fun day. Is anyone else going to fun day this year. If you are please let me know. Well here is a little bit of an update for what I have been doing. Well for the last couple of weeks I have been in Atlanta Georgia helping my brother and his wife with their kids. It has been quite fun helping out and playing with them. I will heading back home to Utah this Thursday so don't expect much of a post until then.

Journeys at a puppy sitters till Thursday. The reason he is at a puppy sitters is cause I have a lot of family over. Most of my family has little kids so I thought it would be less stress on the little guy. Why I decided to send him to the puppy sitters is cause with my 1st puppy Berta I had a lot of family over with her as well and that kinda stressed her out because she was still just a little girl at the time. Why it stressed Berta out was because on of my nieces started screaming in her face and it just wasn't a good situation. Thats why little Journ is at the puppy sitter this week. 1st Post!

Ya Mom made me my own blog. That means that I am able to post stuff on this one with my own opinion of how training is going instead of it just being her opinion on how the training is going.

Well since I have my own blog now here is how I think I am doing. Well I think I am doing pretty good. I am kinda of fraidy cat around the vacuum. Mom thinks I am just playing. When I am not playing at all I am trying to back away on propose. Well enough about that I think I am doing a pretty decent job with my training, Mom's kinda a little rough on me though some of the time and I don't really appreciate it very much. Oh and another thing Mom keeps calling me these other names. Some of those names would be Myra, Dickens, Berta, Lansing, and so on. The one thing I don't understand is why she just can't call me by my real name which is Journey. Just Journey mom not any of those others names I mentioned on top. Well thats all I got for now. I will leave you with a picture that mom took of me today.

Well I have finished all of my finals. I had my last 2 today. I am pretty much done with 10th grade. As of tomorrow I will not half to go anymore. Thursday is graduation for the seniors and Friday the teachers will not really want any of the students there so my summer pretty much starts tomorrow.

Now for a little bit of an update on Journey. He is doing pretty good. He hasn't had any accidents in the house for quite a while. Picking up on sit, and wait. Doing pretty good at GTB (go to bed). Does come 50% of the time on leash when not distracted. Those are the commands we have been working on recently. Well thats all for now. I will have pictures for you in my next post. I don't feel like uploading them right now, but next time though.

Happy Memorial Day everyone. I would have done this yesterday but I was supper sick. With a really bad stomachache. I feel a lot better today then I did yesterday. I am also watching my friends dog tell tonight. So here are some pictures of Journey and my friends dog Bandit.

Puppy Class...

Well yesterday I had puppy class. The CFR was there. She met earlier with the older pups in the club. Since I have the experience of being the leaders daughter I got to go to puppy class at 6:00 instead of being there at 7:00 when the meetings usually start. Well I was okay with this. When I got there Fullerton and Megan were already there. Well since the other older puppy Dax wasn't there yet we sat and talked for a few minutes. Then Dax showed up show the older puppies and my mom (who is the leader) headed inside. Here are some picture I took while we were waiting for Dax.

So I had both Dickens and Journey for a little while until Meade and Mitch showed up. So Mitch's mom ended up takeing Dickens for a little bit. When the big pups came out Barb my CFR started talking. We worked on Go To Bed which Journey is picking up so fast. That was pretty much the meeting.

So after the meeting was over 2 puppies got the special honor of being put in head collars. These pups were Meade and Journey. Yay! Meade got his head collar because he is I guess sort of a control freak. Journey got the head collar because he is kind of can be a handful sometimes and I thought he wouldn't get his feelings hurt as much when he got corrected since he is kind of a soft little guy. Dickens News!!!!!!

Well for those of you who don't know about why I have Dickens heres why. Well Dickens is here because the family that started him decided it wouldn't work out for some reason or another. This was all about 2 weeks ago. This is my first time having it not work out for someone with a puppy at such a young age. The last time there was a puppy raiser in my club that it didn't work out was when I had just barley joined the group. This puppy came 2 months before my puppy and left the same day I received my 1st puppy for GDB. Well here are some pictures of Dickens.

Well the new with Dickens is that he will be leaving to Denver Colorado on Friday with the CFR to finish his training with a family out there. I am really going to miss this little man. Yes I am attached to him. Well since this was such a short post here are some nicknames I have for him.

13 Weeks

Well both the boys turned 13 weeks this week. Dickens turned 13 weeks on Friday and Journey turned 13 weeks today. So here are some pictures I took of them for there 13 week B-Day.

P.S. Both Dickens and Journey got their 12 week shots today. They both did wonderful at the vet. Dickens weighed in at 27.0 pounds and Journey weighed in at 20.3 pounds. When we got Journ at 9 weeks he only weighed in at 15 pounds. Not sure how much Dickey weighed in at. Well thats all for now. Sorry no pictures from the boys trip to the vet.

Well here are some pictures of what I have been up to lately with Journey and a certain puppy. This puppy would be known as the Chubby Puppy in my club(aka Dickens). Well here are the pictures.

The other night. I took the boys out to play and this is what we did. I have a play set in my yard that I let them climb up on and this is what they did.

I also have recently cleaned out the dog run so the puppies can play in there. The reason I have cleaned out the dog run is cause the puppies have started eating old grapes in the back of the yard and I am sick of going and taking stuff out of there mouths.

Well today is Berta and Maggie's Birthdays. No they were not born in the same year. They are exactly a year apart from each other. Berta was born in 2006 to Kentucky/Cedar. Maggie was born in 2007 to Tiburon/Dominique. So that makes Berta 3 today and Maggie 2. I haven't sent any thing to there families yet but I am planing on it. I don't have any recent pictures either sorry about that. And as far as I know that are both doing amazing jobs as guide dogs. Both their handler love them dearly. Thats all for now.

Puppy Class Yesterday

Well yesterday was puppy class. That was a bit crazy. I am pretty sure everyone was just excited about new puppies. We also found out that the club grandpa got recalled for June 3rd. We are really going to miss him.

1st Puppy Meeting

Well yesterday was Journey's first puppy meeting. That was pretty good all Journey did was sleep during the puppy meeting and act like my perfect puppy that he is. I wasn't trying to brag but right now he has been a pretty much perfect puppy for me. He has only had about to accidents in the house every day. Well yesterday was Journey's 9 week birthday. I don't have any pictures but I am just going to put pictures up from his first bath instead.

For a summery of the first couple of days. He slept really well the first night, and the second not sure about tonight. Right now I am thinking I do not want to give him to the high school raising program when the time comes for me to. He's been so much fun. He also reminds me alot of my first puppy Berta who had the same dad as he does. Here is a picture of Berta. The picture is of her when she was a little older though.

He is totally worth the extra day wait. Right now he is sprawled on the floor. My guess he is conserving energy for tonight. Well are you ready to here what his name is. Let me introduce to you Journey. I know I know it was suppose to be an M puppy but it got changed last minute. Journeys parents are Kentucky and Arcadia. He was born on February 15, 2009. Disappointing News!!!!!!

Well I found out this morning that the puppy truck has been delayed tell Saturday because of the weather. What a bummer I know. Know I only have one day with the puppy until I go back to school from spring break. It seems like Mr. M is not going to get here fast. Here is a picture of some of the snow that came to Utah. Quite a bit of it has melted sense this morning from the sidewalk and stuff but there is plenty on the ground still.

Now for a little better topic other then snow. I thought I would put some pictures of the new toys I have boughten for Mr. M. Some these toys I have but some of them Myra destroyed. The Nylaknot toy I have but it is the small one. In fact most of the rubber toys got destroyed by Myra.

Well thats that. Thanks to the snow I have to wait one more day for the puppy truck to bring Mr. M. Kind of a depressing day.

16 Days to Go

Well its only 16 days until my puppy comes. I don't know anything about what letter its name will start with or who the parents are yet. But my leader will let me know next week. The one thing I do know is that it will be another high school puppy. For those of you who don't know what that is. It's a program where high school students raise Guide Dogs puppies for credit in school. This will be my 3rd puppy for the program. Well thats all about that. Here are some pictures of Myra's last bath.

The Good & The Bad

Well yesterday was the Utah State puppy workshop. Which was a ton of fun. Spending the whole day with guide dog puppies can't be any better. The day started out with going to pick up 3 other puppies since my mom is the leader and she offered to take whoever needed a ride. Which we ended up 5 dogs and 4 people in the car ride up. We had fun anyways. We made lots of different jokes and just had fun.

way to describe him. Still a very spunky and love

able puppy.

At the start our CFR taught us how to do the new "go to bed" command. Which I am freaking excited about starting. She started with using Myra for a demo dog. Since she somewhat knew what she was doing cause she had learned at a leader meeting with my leader (mom). So that was fun. She had so much fun doing it. I think it is going to be her new favorite game besides food induced recall. No pictures of her doing it though.

After that we got to go around to different stations and learn stuff about grooming, and some other things. One of the stations was having dogs that had made it up to a certain phase before that got CC'd do harness walks. That was really cool. One of the pups in my club Barrymore got to give do it and that was so fun to see him in harness.

I also got to give a hug to a very special puppy to me. His name is Lansing of course. He has gotten so be compared to when I dropped him of with his new handler. I still love him just as much and his is still the silly puppy he was when he was little.

It doesn't seem like they remember each other in the pictures but they did at the end. He even didn't remember me at the beginning. Anyway it was a very fun day with lots of jokes and laughs and a very memorable day.

Now for the sad news. Myra's recall has been changed from leaving in April to leaving in on March 28. Which is very sad cause i just have about a total of 5 weeks with her. I know sad that I am already counting down. I do know that she is ready to go back for formal training though cause she is really board with everyday life and is ready for a change in her routine. I know she is ready and with be amazing in formal training. I will miss her very much though but I can't wait to see how she does in formal training. Good luck to her.

Well sense you all have probably been wondering what's happened to me I am going to do an update starting with yesterday. Sorry it's been awhile.

Well yesterday was a day filled with going to school wishing I had Lansing to celebrate his 1st birthday, and pretty much everything else. Nothing really exciting yesterday.

Today I went to school. When I came home I made something to eat, watched a little TV. After that I took some pictures for Myra's 17th month B-Day. At like 5:30 pm I got Fullerton and Myra went with Fullerton's puppy raiser. I am going to have him in till Thursday night and then we are going to switch back at puppy class that night. So thats about it for today.
